As you prepare for your workshop:
Dress
Dress for all workshops is business casual.
Class Schedule
The workshop will run from 8 am to 4 pm both days.
Continental breakfast and lunch is included both days.
You will have the opportunity to check voicemail/return phone calls during breaks on both days.
Study and Texts
There is no pre-work required for this workshop, although we will ask you to complete a brief assessment, so that our instructor understands your level of expertise. The PDMA website recommends a long list of books for reading, but we recommend three specific books:
- Cooper, Robert G., Winning at New Products: Accelerating the Process from Idea to Launch, 3rd ed. Reading, MA: Perseus Books.
- Crawford, C. Merle and Anthony DiBenedetto,* - New Products Management. 7th Edition.
- Wheelwright, S. C. and K. B. Clark, Revolutionizing Product Development . New York: Free Press.
You will not need the textbooks during the workshop, but they could prove helpful to you if you seek NPDP certification.
You may acquire the texts on your own, or purchase them through NP Learning.
Travel to Workshop
If you are traveling to attend the workshop, we recommend flying or driving in the night before, so it's easy for you to make the 8 am start time.
The second day's session will last until 4 pm. Please allow for a full day's class on the second day when you're making your travel arrangements.
NPDP Certification
If you intend to pursue certification, there are forms which must be completed for PDMA. Go to http://www.pdma.org/certification to download the forms and bring them to the workshop. The instructor will offer suggestions during the workshop.
