NPDP Certification Requirements
The Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) has established these requirements to receive NPDP (New Product Development Professional) Certification.
Candidates must meet specific criteria in education, experience and knowledge.
There are two possible tracks.
1. Individuals with university degrees:
- Education: hold a bachelor's or higher university degree (or equivalent degree) from an accredited institution, AND
- Experience: accrue at least TWO years of professional-level experience working in new product development (the candidate must work in this field at the time of application and must have accumulated the required experience with the prior four years), AND
- Knowledge: achieve a passing score on the NPDP Certification Exam.
2. Individuals with high-school diplomas or the equivalent:
- Education: hold a high-school diploma or its equivalent, AND
- Experience: accrue at least FIVE years of professional-level experience working in new product development (the candidate must work in this field at the time of application and must have accumulated the required experience within the prior eight years), AND
- Knowledge: achieve a passing score on the NPDP Certification Exam.
